Position Overview

The Box Office Coordinator is the primary point of contact for the public during Festival performances, playing a key role in creating a welcoming and positive audience experience. Responsibilities include managing daily box office and merchandise sales, handling ticketing and patron inquiries, completing sales reconciliations, and overseeing both cash and electronic transactions. The role also includes coordinating front-of-house volunteers and serving as a central communication point during performances. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in creating a great audience experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily box office operations, including ticket sales and cash handling

• Coordinate and schedule front-of-house volunteers

• Support volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and communication

• Ensure a smooth and positive patron experience

• Track volunteer participation and contributions

• Assist with general administrative duties

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Interest in theatre, arts, or community events

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask

• Self-directed with the ability to take initiative

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Comfortable working outdoors

• Available evenings and weekends

• Reliable transportation is an asset (travel between Prescott and Maitland may be required)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Production Assistant supports the Artistic Directors, General Manager, and Stage Management team to ensure the smooth operation of the Festival’s production activities across multiple venues. This role offers hands-on experience in professional outdoor and immersive theatre.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working with the Artistic Directors, Stage Management, and General Manager, the Production Assistant will:

• Assist with load-in, setup, and strike of productions at all venues

• Support the installation and setup of scenic, lighting, and audio elements

• Assist with basic operation and maintenance of technical equipment, including audio and lighting

• Provide general labour support for daily production needs, including moving equipment and supplies

• Assist with the construction, painting, and maintenance of scenic elements and props

• Support the organization and upkeep of storage, backstage, and production areas

• Assist with transportation of equipment, props, and materials between venues (Prescott and Maitland)

• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment across all production spaces

• Support front-of-house or event logistics as needed (set-up, signage, audience flow support)

• Assist with special events, community programming, and Spotlight Series setup as required

• Monitor and report any maintenance or safety concerns to the production team

• Perform other production-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Interest in theatre, live events, or production

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with basic tools, construction, or technical theatre is an asset

• Reliable transportation is an asset (travel between Prescott and Maitland may be required)

• Comfortable working outdoors and available for evenings and weekends

Complimentary billeting may be available for the right candidate.

ELIGIBILITY (Canada Summer Jobs):

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must be:

• Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment

• A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status

• Legally entitled to work in Canada
